We make it easier to select VP clutch kit for your setup without unnecessary heavy clutch pull. Just install the VP Performance Kit to your stock clutch, it will handle up to approximate 182ft-lbs (@4000RPM) torque. VP Performance Kits are great for any high performance engines (Supercharged, Turbocharged and Bigger displacement engines). This kit comes with clutch spring.  (Learn more click here)

 

Note: In the Chart, The clutch will not slip when there is your engine torque curve below the clutch pressure curve. These pressure and handling torque in the chart are calculated with stock primary and final gear ratio. These numbers will be change by primary and final gear ratio.

Note: Will fit models equipped with H-D hydraulic clutch. Non-stock derby cover (including any special or '03 anniversary cover) and 3 holes derby cover may require a derby cover spacer. Clutch pull becomes heavier as RPM increases.

 

 

Stage 1. (Parts#VP017-280)

Up to 120ft-lbs Torque

Clutch lever effort (@lower RPM): Same as Harley-Davidson stock clutch
Kit contents: VP92T, 280lbs spring

 

Note: This kit contains the similar spring from '06 and later Big Twin models. If you have those models, just need VP92T (Parts#VP008-92T).

 

Stage 2. (Parts#VP017-340)

Up to 140ft-lbs Torque

Clutch lever effort (@lower RPM): 20% heavier than stock
Kit contents: VP92T, 340lbs spring

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stage 3. (Parts#VP017-380)

Up to 153ft-lbs Torque

Clutch lever effort (@lower RPM): 35% heavier than stock, Same as Screaming Eagle heavy duty spring.
Kit contents: VP92T, 380lbs spring

 

 

 

 

Stage 4. (Parts#VP017-480)

Up to 182ft-lbs Torque

Clutch lever effort (@lower RPM): 70% heavier than stock
Kit contents: VP92T, 480lbs spring
